Evan Begg is an Emeritus Professor at University of Otago’s Christchurch School of Medicine, in NZ He graduated from the University of Auckland in 1974. He retired from full time work in 2013 and is now part-time. He was Convenor of Clinical Pharmacology teaching, Christchurch School of Medicine, 1984-2013. He has teaching awards from his own University, from ASCEPT (Australasian Society for Clinical and Experimental Pharmacologists and toxicologists), and from IUPHAR. His book, “Instant Clinical Pharmacology”, Blackwell/Wiley, 1st Ed 2003, 2nd Ed 2007, has been published in Russian (2004) and Italian (2006). He has had various roles in the training of clinical pharmacologists in Australasia, and was awarded life membership of ASCEPT in 2014. His main research interest has been in applied clinical pharmacokinetics, especially regarding antibiotics. He was Australasian Editor for the BJCP, 2001-2008, and was awarded FBPhS in 2016.
